Major Accident Involving Police Officer
October 28, 2005

On Friday, October 28, 2005 at approximately 4:25 p.m., Manvel Police Officers responded to the intersection of S. Masters and King Street in reference to a motor vehicle accident. The accident involved a Manvel Police Department marked patrol unit and an Alvin Independent School District school bus. Investigation revealed that Officer Carson of the Manvel Police Department was traveling eastbound on King Street and failed to stop at the stop sign, hitting the school bus. The school bus was traveling southbound on S. Masters. The school bus was carrying approximately sixteen passengers. There were no injuries reported on the school bus. Officer Carson was transported to Southeast Memorial for the treatment of minor injuries.
